How the test works and its limitations
A personality test measures tendencies rather than guessing a fixed identity. Every measurement has uncertainty. We show that uncertainty alongside your result.
What does it measure?
We measure five dimensions as separate, continuous values.
- Energy direction (E / I)— Where you get your energy. Gains energy from interaction. Often thinks while talking. / Recharges through time alone. Often thinks before speaking.
- Information style (N / S)— What information you trust. Focuses on possibilities, metaphors, and the big picture. Enjoys making new connections. / Focuses on facts, examples, and experience. Values clear methods and repeatability.
- Decision style (T / F)— How you make decisions. Decides through consistency and logic. Prioritizes sound reasoning. / Decides through harmony and values. Prioritizes the impact on people.
- Approach to life (J / P)— How you approach tasks. Plans and decides early. Prefers deadlines and a clear sequence. / Adjusts to the situation. Prefers keeping options open.
- Stress response (A / T)— How you respond to stress and setbacks. Tends to stay emotionally steady and recover from setbacks without prolonged self-doubt. / Experiences stronger emotional shifts and reflects on setbacks with a strong desire to grow.
Why show numbers as well as four letters?
A hard cutoff can give unstable labels to people near the middle. We show each tendency from 0–100% with a 95% confidence interval. If the interval crosses 50%, we identify the dimension as balanced.
Response quality checks
We automatically check the following patterns and explain them on the result page. They are data quality signals, not accusations of dishonesty.
- One choice accounts for over 70% of responses
- Neutral responses account for over 45%
- Extremely little variation in responses across all dimensions
Answer direction and scoring
The left and right tendencies stay in a fixed order. Answers closer to the left count toward side A of each dimension; answers closer to the right count toward side B. Statements are not swapped or scored with a second reversal.
Limitations of this test
- Self-reported answers can be affected by your mood and circumstances on the day.
- Personality can change gradually. A different result several months later is not unusual.
- Results are not a medical or psychological diagnosis and should not be the sole basis for employment, hiring, or medical decisions.
- Type names describe tendencies. They do not determine a person's ability or suitability.
